Have you ever wondered what a rubber base is? Flexi Gel is Nail Order’s Rubber Base gel and the great thing about rubber base is that it can be used for a multitude of things. A rubber base allows for more flexibility of the nail than a treatment such as a builder gel but will still add strength.
USP’s of Flexi Gel
- Hypoallergenic (free of the 4 main allergens found in nail products: HPMA, HEMA, IBOA and di-HEMA)
- Great retention
- Soak off
- Can be used to apply full-cover tips
- Creates strength but allows flexibility
- No separate base coat required
- 30-second cure time in the Lumi lamp
- Self-levelling
Who should I use Flexi Gel on?
Rubber bases are great for clients who are prone to lifting from the cuticle with builder gel as they require more flexibility than the builder allows. Flexi gel is a great base coat for clients who are looking for a simple gel polish treatment but do need a little added strength. It will feel lightweight on their nails and not add any bulk.
Things to note with Flexi Gel
- Flexi gel should not be applied as thick as a builder. Gel as it is not designed to cure at the same thickness. As a result, no additional apex should be added.
- Clients nails will still flexi with Flexi Gel on ( as the natural nail is designed to do so)
- Never use a pigmented gel to adhere full cover tips that are also pigmented.
- As Flexi gel is a fast polymerising gel (it can cure in as little as 30 seconds!) it can feel a little spicy to clients who have thinner or sensitive nails when applying a thicker layer of the product for a "builder" layer or rubber base. For clients who are more sensitive apply 2 thin base coats before your builder layer and always use 90 seconds low heat mode.
- Flexi gel has a cure thickness of 0.3mm, this means that each layer should be applied no more than 0.3mm thick. For context, this is approximately 3 times the thickness of gel polish but less than half of AnGel.
Flexi gel is loved by our customers as it offers unbeatable retention and self levelling properties.
